GSHS Klöken

Kloken is a 100% air-tight food container focusing primarily on the Asian food culture. In response to glass construction, we chose to employ Tritan™ for its higher visual clarity, durability, and lower weight properties. Another benefit of Tritan™ is that it’s manufactured without bisphenol-A (BPA). Tritan™ is also both heat and chemical resistant. This is especially important in cultures that eat and preserve items such as kimchi daily. From a use and aesthetic perspective, “preservation meets presentation” was our driving goal. Kloken attempts to bridge the gap of serving and storage by addressing both worlds at once.

iriver EDU Master HD

The EDUMASTER HD is the latest electronic dictionary from iriver. The soft rounded surface provides a comfortable handling and adds emotion to the product. Soft color tones and dimmed lighting provide a calm feeling. The keys on the EDUMASTER HD have been arranged for the user to have much more comfort ability and the keys are shaped in a iriver pebble dome for easy typing. The improved keyboard offers now physical hot keys for the most common interactions making it much faster for users to find a specific dictionary. The emphasized four-way key, using brushed aluminum as material, gives a simple and luxurious design look and differentiates it from other dictionary designs.

iriver T8

An MP3 player is not just a digital device but a fashion item that is part of your style. By simply wearing it around your neck or putting it in your back pocket, the black and white T8 complements your fashion style. T8 is more than just an ordinary MP3 player and can be used as a storage medium. Simply open the bottom cap and plug it into a Windows PC with USB port. All you need to do is drag-and-drop any music or document files to store.

GSHS Vaärenta

Sometimes it is important to look outside of your local environment in order to address local needs. With the Vaärenta water purifier, we did just that. Seeking ways in which to offer more, in a smaller package, the award winning Vaärenta water purifier solves many issues found in the Asian home. With its articulating faucet, Vaärenta allows its user to easily dispense clean and clear water into vessels large or small. With the aid of communicative lighting, Vaärenta ensures the user that they are informed of its activity.

GSHS Strom

Strom was designed as a departure from a typical frying pan to create an aesthetically pleasing shape with user-friendly features and functions.

The overall shape depicts a flower bud in full blossom. Its naturally occurring vertex features easy-pour convenience. The petal shaped grooves on the cooking surface allow for even distribution of the cooking oil.

Strom's ceramic coating and bright Gold Pearl and Dark Brown color scheme create a very healthy and elegant impression to set itself apart.

KTT Seotaiji

The Seotaji Phone features the autograph of Seo Tai Ji, one of the all time greatest musicians and a cultural icon from Korea. It was released with TV commercials featuring Seo Tai Ji, playing himself.

Its design is highlighted with straight lines and small rounded corners, creating a simple and honest body shape. The face features printed colors on the backside and raised numbers on the keypads, for the look and feel of a clean yet fancy business device.

GSHS New Kitchen PI & BI Development

As a trial case, GSHS approached us to create their own private, luxury brand for new kitchen wares and appliances. Intensive market research, in home interviews, and manufacturing explorations yielded the necessary knowledge and insights to design such offerings. Outside of going above and beyond the expected sales forecasts, the prestigious Red Dot Award verified the project’s success.

KTT LoveShake

LoveShake was born out of the strategic aim to bridge the gap between usability and styling, as touch screen phones were evolving in the marketplace.

To entice users hesitant to switch to a full touch phone, the navigation button was placed above the keypad. This feature maximizes the overall slide length and the screen, satisfying both the stylish look of the full touch phone and the functionality of the slide phone. The LoveShake also features LED lights on the top which flash on their own or in synch with the main LCD and/or keypad.

KTT Touchstar

Touchstar is a slide phone featuring touch navigation keys and a metallic body with octagonal engraved patterns which reflect the light to create a jewel-like appearance.

The hidden keypads are soft to the touch and light up when open to give a premium look and feel.

Samsung Color Laser Printer

The CLP was Samsung's first generation color laser printer. The printer was studied inside and out in order to improve assembly, reduce part count, and improve existing parting line clutter. The result was an internal frame system that allowed easy assembly of internal components and a simplified enclosure part breakup.

Samsung Office Products Design Identity for the North American Market

Samsung came to HaA to create a visual identity for its line of LCD and CRT monitors, inkjet and laser printers. The result was the "Espresso" segment of flagship products that created a beneficial halo effect for the rest of the product line.

Qook Cruise

Born out of scores of prototype designs, Qook Cruise was designed to fit comfortably in the hand by cleaning up a rather bit too large overall shape. It also features a distinctive navigation which makes it the center of focus and refreshingly unique.

Its charger cradle was designed for the secure placement of the handset while its image is a gentle reminder of the friendly shapes found in nature.

Its lavender and white color scheme was chosen to be home-friendly and promote more frequent use.

LG Nortel Visual Design & Identity Strategy

When asked what the core competencies were of their company, stake holders of LG Nortel identified ‘Fast, Ordered, Optimistic’ as the key attributes defining their success as a company. Seeking to create a holistic brand identity, such terms were then turned into the backbone of an in depth Visual Design and Identity Strategy. The following product concepts illustrate the intangible values turned into the tangible product solutions.

LG Nortel DECT Explore

Following the proposed Visual Design and Identity Strategy conducted for LG Nortel, this series illustrates various expressions of the proposed new design language. Fast, Ordered, Optimistic were the key attributes defining these concepts.

Iron Man (GDC-450H)

GDC-450H is DECT for the user who works in tough environments (factories, garages, construction sites, etc.). The orange anti-shock urethane side bumpers were added for protection, increased grip, and extra visibility. Expected to be used in work environments, enlarged input controls were added where necessary for increased usability.
